Thousands of volunteer youths, goverment agencies and international agencies are working to provide maximum relief materials to those who are in need. Still there are some communities and thousand of kids and their families who are waiting for a tiny support to survive, to feed thier kids a piece of bread, to protect them from rain. Now its our turn to help them, to help them to regain the charm in their life, to bring back some smiles to their faces, to bring their life to normal.

दीपाको कथा

१० बर्ष कि दिपा ढुंगेल मुटुमा रोग लिएर जन्म लिईन. दिपाको अरु नानीहरु जस्तो स्वाभाविक मानसिक बृधि नि भएन. दोलखा लामी डाडा मूल घर भै हाल कोतेश्वोर डेरा गरि बस्ने बुबा लक्ष्मी प्रसाद ढुंगेल र आमा चन्द्र माया ढुंगेलको एक मात्र सन्तान को रुपमा दीपाको जन्म भएको थीयो. दीपाको मुटुको रोग राम्ररि बाहिर आउनु पुर्व नै उनको बुबाको एक दिन अकस्मात हृदयघातले मृत्यु भयो. श्रीमान र श्रीमती ढुंगेल कोतेश्वोर तरकारी बजार वर पर बिहान हरियो साग बेच्ने गर्दथ्ये, यहि नै ढुंगेल परिवारको सानो ब्यबसाय थीयो.

श्रीमानको मृत्यु पछि चन्द्र माया एक्ली हुन् पुगिन. एकातिर उनलाई आफ्नी छोरीको लालन पोषण, शिक्षा दिक्षा को ख्याल गर्नु थीयो भने अर्को तिर अबोध छोरीको मुटुको रोग संग लड्नु थीयो. केहि आफन्तहरुको सहयोगले गर्दा २ बर्ष अघि दिपा को मुटुको सफल सल्यक्रिया गंगालाल अस्पतालमा भयो. दिपा अब स्वस्थ्य छिन, बिधालय पनि निरन्तर जान्छिन.

तर अझ पनि चन्द्र माया माथि दीपाको शिक्षाको एउटा ठुलो अभिभारा थीयो जसले उनलाई दिनानुदिन थिची रहेको थीयो. चालु शैक्षिक सत्र देखि उनले दीपाको बिधालय शुल्क बुझाउन सकेकी थिइनन्. तरकारी बेचेर कमाएको पैसाले २ ज्यान पालन बाहेक अरु के नै सम्भव थीयो र?

दिपा पढ्ने गरेको बिधालयबाट प्रधानाध्यापक श्री गणेश भट्टराईले एउटा नानीको निम्ति जसरि पनि सहयोग जुटाउनु पर्यो भनि हामीलाई संदेश पठाउनु भयो. बिगतमा पनि तेसै विधालयका सुजन सिवाकोतिलाइ सहयोग उपलब्ध गराएको हुनाले उनले हामीलाई दीपाको निम्ति सहयोगको आग्रह गर्नु भएको थीयो. तर हाम्रो सिमित आर्थिक हैसियतले तत्कालै केहि भन्ने अवस्था थिएन . तर पनि कहिँ कतै बाट केहि हुन्छ कि भन्ने प्रयत्न जारि थीयो हाम्रो.

एक दिन अकस्मात प्रिती शेरचन बहिनिको फोन आयो. उहाले हाम्रो सस्थाको बारेमा सुरज शाक्यबाट सुन्नु भएको रहेछ. उनको एक जना साथि छेमी डोमा जो अमेरिका मा बस्नु हुन्छ उहा एक नेपाली नानीलाई सम्पूर्ण शैक्षिक सहयोग गर्नको निम्ति तेस्तै प्रकारको सस्था र नानि खोज्दै हुनुहुन्थ्यो, तेसैको निम्ति प्रिती बहिनि को फोन हामीलाई आएको थीयो. ढुंगा खोज्दा देउता मिले झैँ हामीले दिपाको निम्ति सहयोग गर्न आग्रह गरेउ. प्रिती बहिनिले छेमी जिको प्रतिनिधिको रुपमा दिपा र उनको आमा तथा बिधालयको भ्रमण गरिन. अब फूलपाती पुर्व नै छेमी जीले दीपाको सम्पूर्ण शैक्षिक खर्चको जिम्मा लिदै हुनु हुन्छ, चालु शैक्षिक सत्रको बिधालयमा रहेको बाकि बक्यौता सहित.

हामि सधै भन्ने गर्छौ कि हामि त् मात्र निमित्त हौ तपाइँहरुका सकारात्मक सोच र करुणाको.
बिजया दशमीको हर्ष उलास सुरु भैसकेको छ. छेमी जी र हामि यस बिजया दसमिमा "शिक्षा" उपहार दिदै छौ दीपालाई. छेमी जी, प्रिती बहिनि, सुरज भाई र गणेश सर सबैलाई मुरी मुरी धन्यबाद. (सेप्टेम्बर २५ २०१४)

Who are we?

Who are we?

Focusing purely on social work, we are an organization that is registered with the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu and affiliated with Social Welfare Council, Nepal. We are a mission; we are “Mission Education Nepal”.

What do we do?

In simple words, we don’t do ‘big’ things. Focusing on Nepal as our work area, we help those who haven’t been able to study, those who have been forced to leave school early because of their unfavorable socio-economic situation and the children of those genuinely poor people who have to work hard just to make their ends meet, by helping them to continue their formal education and schooling. In a way it can be said that we provide full scholarships to the most needy as far as our resources permit.

How do we help?

We help by identifying the children who really need our help and admit them into schools. We bear all the economic responsibilities of the expenses required for their school (including admission fees, tuition fees, etc.) and educational materials (including uniform, books, copy, pens, etc).

What’s the source of our funds?

We believe that Nepalese have to be the ones dealing with Nepal’s problems. Thus we ask the support from all Nepalese living within or outside the borders of Nepal.

Presently, the main sources of our funds are those Nepali donors who are satisfied with our work or are worried about the problems occurring in Nepal. We also generate some funds from membership fees charged to those who are willing to be affiliated with our organizations as well as annual donations committed by specific donors (whom we call ‘annual donors’).

What activities are we doing in the present?

We are currently supporting the education of 7* children in Nepal. Besides this we are also involved in establishing and upgrading a library at Saraswati School, Koteshwor in Kathmandu. *(we had already provided more than 300 books to Saraswoti school to upgrade its library)

Where are our offices?

We don’t have any office or branches, and we perform all our official functions through the homes of specific members. Frankly speaking we don’t have the economic capacity to sustain an office. Our focus so far has been to support more people from the donors’ aid, rather than waste it senselessly on running an office.

How much do we spend on administration?

In the last fiscal year of 2070/2061 BS (i.e., 2013 AD)* our administration expenses was around 8%, while its come to around 10% in the current fiscal year. Most of these expenses include compulsory government fees like registration, and re-registration, while the rest include stationary fees for our organization.

What do we do with the donation we receive?

We spend 100% the donated amount on exactly those activities and plans, on which the donors wish to contribute.

What are our future plans?

We aim to admit at least 5 new children in schools from the next academic session that starts from June 2015*. We also aim to establish at least 1 library in a community/governmental school in Nepal every year.

And what is your Rupees 5 lakhs (Five Hundred Thousand) fund deposit plan?

Our plan is to select at most 2 districts every year within Nepal and collect NRS. 5, 00,000 per district. The collected amount would then be deposited in some reliable financial institutions on a yearly fixed-deposit basis. The interest received from such deposits would then be invested on the education of at least 5 children of the very district where the funds are collected. Our plan here is to support at least 10 children from 2 districts every year in their education and thus contribute something to develop Nepal. We had already collected NRs. 110,000.00 on Mahottari district 5 lakhs endowment fund. And collection is going on.*

What don’t we do?

We don’t sell dreams. We instead give efforts to change dreams to reality; a dream of seeing an educated, prosperous and peaceful Nepal.

How can people/ organization support us

Donation Of money, Donor will be classified as their donated amount. Here are donor classifications.

• Level 1: Rs. 200.00 per month
• Level 2: Rs. 200.00 - Rs. 50000 per month
• Level 3: Above Rs. 500.00 per month
• Annual donor: anual donation of minimum Rs.1000.00
•  Admin donor: one can donate as much as their wish, donation under this category will be fixed deposited in our bank account, and the interest from that will be used for admin expenses.
• Convey about us to friend circle, school mates, office mates etc in possible way one can afford to.
• Co-operate with our team in finding other donors, volunteers and other official organization working in these kind of projects
• "Do some charity on the special occasion of Birthday". Through campaign Birthday one can donae Rs. 100.00 to Rs. 1000.00 as per their wish and make it socially lifetime memorable.

हामी को हौ ?

हामी एक बिशुध्द सामाजिक कार्य गर्न नेपाल सरकार, काठमाडौ जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालयमा दर्ता भएको तथा समाज कल्याण परिषदबाट आवध्द्ता प्राप्त सस्था हौ । हामी अभियान हौ, हामी “अभियान शिक्षा नेपाल” हौ । 

हामि के गर्दछौ ?

सरल भाषामा भन्नु पर्दा हामि केहि ठुलो काम गर्दैनौ। हामि नेपाललाई कार्यक्षेत्र बनाई पढ्न नपायेका, आर्थिक-सामाजिक कारणहरुले गर्दा पढाई बिचैमा छोढेर बसेका वा भोलिको दिनमा एक छाक खानाको जोहो गर्न छोड्नु पर्ने हुन सक्ने तथा गरिब बिपन्न परिवारका बाल-बालिकाहरुलाई औपचारिक शिक्षा उप्लब्ध गरौदछौ।

कसरी ?

तेस्ता बाल-बालिकाहरुको पहिचान गरी उनिहरुलाई बिधालय भर्ना गरी, उनिहरुको सम्पूर्ण शैक्षिक खर्च (भर्ना शुल्क, मासिक शुल्क तथा अन्य) तथा सम्पूर्ण शैक्षिक सामाग्री खर्च (पोशाक, पुस्तक, कपि-कलम तथा अन्य) को जिम्मेवारी ग्रहण गर्दछौ ।

हामी स्रोत कसरी जुटाउछौ ?

हामी नेपालीले नै नेपालको समस्यासँग लड्नु पर्छ भन्ने मान्याता राख्दछौ । तेसैले हामी देश-बिदेशमा रहनु हुने नेपाली दाजु-भाइ, दिदि-बहिनिहरुसँग सहयोगको आग्रह गर्दछौ ।

हाम्रो कामबाट सन्तुष्ट तथा देशको समस्याबाट चिन्तित नेपालिहरुबाट प्राप्त सहयोगनै हाम्रो मुख्य आर्थिक स्रोत हो। तेस्तै सदस्य शुल्क तथा केहि निस्चित रकम बार्षिक रुपमा सहयोग गर्ने प्रतिबध्द नेपालिहरुको सहयोग (जसलाई हामि बार्षिक दाता भन्दछौ) पनि हाम्रो अर्को मुख्य स्रोत हो।

अहिले हामी के गर्दैछौ ?

हामी अहिले ७* जना बाल-बालिकहरुलाई बिधालय भर्ना गराएर शिक्षित बनाउदैछौ । तेस्तै हामी सरस्वती बिधालय कोटेश्वोरमा पुस्तकालय स्थापना तथा स्तर उन्नती गर्दैछौ ।

हाम्रो कार्यालय कहाँ छ ?

अन्यथा सोच्नु हुन्न भने हाम्रो कुनै पनि, कही पनि अधिकारिक कार्यालय छैन । स्पस्ट रुपले हाम्रो अहिले कार्यालय सन्चालन खर्च गर्ने हैसियत छैन । 

हाम्रो प्रशासनिक खर्च कति छ ?

गत आ.व. हाम्रो प्रशासनिक खर्च ८ प्रतिशत र चालु आ.व. मा १० प्रतिशत भन्दा कम रहेको छ । यि पनि सस्था दर्ता, नविकरण्, दर्ता-नविकरण सिफारिश तथा केही मसलन्द खरिद रहेका छन ।

हामी प्राप्त सहयोगलाई के गर्दछौ ?

जुन उद्देश्यको लागि प्राप्त सहयोग हो हामी सत प्रतिशत नै तेही उद्देश्यको लागि खर्च गर्दछौ ।

हाम्रो आगामि कार्य योजना के छ ?

आउदो शैक्षिक सत्र देखि न्युनतम थप पाच जना बाल-बालिकाहरुलाई बिधालय भर्ना गर्ने योजना रहेको छ। तेस्तै प्रतेक बर्ष कम्तिमा एक सामुदायिक - सरकारि बिधालयमा पुस्तकालय स्थापना गर्दै जाने सोच रहेको छ।

अनि पांच लाख अक्षय कोष योजना नि ?

यस योजना अन्तर्गत प्रतेक आर्थिक बर्षमा बढीमा २ जिल्लाहरुलाई छनौट गर्ने र छनौट गरियेको जिल्लाको लागि प्रति जिल्ला पाच लाख सन्कलन गर्ने। यसरि सन्कलन भयेको रकमलाई बितिय सस्थाहरुमा बार्षिक मुद्दति निक्षेपमा दाखिला गरि सो बाट आउने बार्षिक ब्याजले सोहि जिल्लाका पाच गरिब-बिपन्न बाल-बालिकाहरुमा शिक्षाको ज्योति पुर्याउने। यसरी प्रतेक बर्ष २ जिल्लामा गरी १० बाल-बालिकाहरुलाई शिक्षित बनाउदै देश बिकासमा अघी बढ्ने हाम्रो योजना रहेको छ । हामिले पहिलो चरणको योजना अनुरुप महोतरी जिल्ला छनौट गरेका छौ, र सो को निम्ति रकम संकलन नि सुरु गरिसकेका छौ. हाल सम्म रु. ११०,०००.०० संकलन भै सकेको जानकारी गराउदछौ.*

हामी के गर्दैनौ ?

हामी सपना बाड्दैनौ । हामी सपनालाई जीवन्त बनाउने प्रयास गर्दछौ, एक शिक्षित, समृध्द र शान्त नेपालको सपना ।

सहयोगको लागि निकै आग्रह आउने गर्दछ तर यो (http://kahilekahi.blogspot.com/2012/09/plz-feel-free-to-comment.html#.UG-0a66smSr) ब्लगले मलाई लेखन बाध्य नै गर्यो। डक बहादुर पुन एक १८ बर्षे युवा जो आफ्नो दुबै मृगौलाले काम गर्न छोडि सकेको हुनाले अस्पतालको शैयामा मृत्यु र जिवन बिचको लडाई लड्दैछन। मृत्यु निस्च्य पनि अटल छ तर जिवन अमुल्य छ। जिवनको सहि अर्थ पनि बुझेका छैनन् होला यि मृगौला रोगि डक भाईले, जिवन राम्ररि देखेका नि छैनन् होला। बुबालाई बल्यकालमै गुमायेका यि भाइको घरको आर्थिक अवस्थाले यिनको उपचार खर्च जुटाउन असम्भव निस्चित छ। तेसैले केहि सहयोगि हातहरु अगाडि आयेका छन्। ति सहयोगि हात् पाशुपत क्षेत्रमा बसेर डक भाईको उपचारको लागि सहयोग सन्कलन् गर्दैछन्।

“नेपाली भइ नेपालको लागि धेरै गर्ने रहर छ” भन्ने नेपालीको भिड मैले धेरै देखेको छु । यस्तो कामको लागि सहयोग भन्दा पशुपतिमा भेटी चढाउदा बडी पुणय देखने आडमबरी नेपाली धेरै चिनेको छु । अबको समय हो त्यस्तो आडमबको खोल च्यात्ने, त्यस्तो खोलबाट बाहिर निस्कने । हाम्रो एक सानो सहयोगले यि भाईको जिवन् रक्षा हुन्छ भने हामि किन अघि नबड्ने?

हामी सबैलाई याद नै होला, सोनी च्यानल बाट प्रसारित हुने इन्डियन आइडलका प्रत्यासी नेपाली मुलका भारतीय नागरिक प्रशान्त तमाङलाई जिताउन हामी नेपालीहरुले हजारौ-लाखौं रुपैया सहयोग गरेका थिएम । एक नेपाली मुलका भारतीयको लागि जुन स्व: स्फुर्त सहयोग हामीले गरेका थियौ आज डक भाईलाई तेस्तै स्व: स्फुर्त सहयोगको खाचो छ, एक नेपाली मुलको नेपालीलाई मृत्यु र जीवन बिचको लडाई जित्न । बाटो साच्चिकै कठोर छ तर मृत्यु त्यो भन्दा अझ बढी कठोर छ । आज हामीले डक भाईलाई उसको जीवन् यात्रामा बिजयि बनाएमा हामी आफ्नै नजरमा नेपाली आइडल हुनेछौ, हामीलाई साचो अर्थमा पुणय लाग्ने छ ।

आउ हामी सबै मिली आशुलाई हासोमा परिणत गर्ने पहल गरौ । जीवन अमुल्य छ तेसैले हामी सबैले आ-आफ्नो जीवनको उपादेयता प्रमाणित गरौ । सक्नेले धेरै नसक्नेले थोरै, जती सकिन्छ तेती दिल खोलेर सहयोग गरौ । एक दिनको खाजा, एक प्लेट म:म्:, एक बोटल बीयर कम खाँदैमा हाम्रो जीवन स्तर कम हुने छैन तर तेती बराबरको सहयोगले पक्कै डक भाईलाई मृत्यु युध्द जित्न टेवा पुरयाउने छ ।

Introduction

As told by Paaru,

 I (Paaru) am now 21 years old. I got married when I was 16. Because of several problems in my house I was unable to attend school when I was young. I can’t even recognize any different shapes of different alphabets! Even in this age of information I am living the life a complete illiterate! I became a mother by the age of 18, i.e., my son Biraj came to this world. By the time my son was 6 months old, my husband left me, because of which I became a helpless woman in this Kathmandu city. In this expensive city, where you cannot even expect drinking water without having the ability to pay, the harsh behavior of this society towards a helpless and destitute woman like me frustrated me so much that I lost the sight of all directions in my life. I spent my days begging for help from whoever I had known in the city. Then one day I asked myself, “How long will I be able to survive like this?” Thus I decided to struggle on my own. After searching for a while I got a job of a domestic helper in some homes with the help of a sister I knew. This finally made my life a little some bit easier.

As time passed by I finally got a job that paid me a little bit, i.e, around Rs. 3000-3500 ($40 - $45 ) per month, and even in that job, I get paid based on the days that I go for work. On days that I am absent I don’t get paid. In this expensive city what could I do with that much money? Pay rent? Pay for food? Then how could I pay for my child’s education?

 

From somewhere I heard about this organization called ‘Mission Education Nepal’, which provides funds and scholarships for children of desperate parents like me. After I heard about it, I met some members of the organization and told them about my misery. After hearing my story, they decided to help my son Biraj, and they immediately admitted my son in a local school. These days, my son wears his uniform and goes to school, just like other children; it’s a dream come true! Because of a good organization my son is able to go to school. Thanks to that organization, because of which my son is not going to be declined from the light of education. Thanks to those brothers, who understood my hardships and took me to this organization. And thanks to those brothers, who opened such an organization, because of which even poor and orphans kids have been given the opportunity to see the light of education!

Crying Mother on Mothers Day

It was a glory morning and I was in the room of principal of New Vision School, Koteshwor to admit Bishal Adhikari. But there was a lady in front of us who was crying and requesting principal to enroll one of her two sons in full scholarship. I asked the principal why she is crying. He turned towards me and started to request me that if I can help her. She, Kabita Siwakoti, from Gorkha district, right now living at Koteshwor, runs a footpath shop (Nanglo pasal) at Ratna Park and her husband is a construction labor. They can’t afford all the school expenses of their both child, so you have to support them some how, principal was requesting me. After getting all the information about her, I looked at her and told her I will let you contact if I can do anything for you and I left that room.

       After a day long hard work, next day we enrolled her son Sujan Siwakoti in class five. Yes we are little satisfied today, we will get a good sleep tonight. Thank you, who had supported us to bring some changes, some smiles.
